Meet your Lactologist
Hi, I’m Courtney Slegers.
Lactation & Breastfeeding CounsellorI founded Lactology because mothers deserve structured, evidence-based breastfeeding support—and they deserve it now, not years after clinical practice catches up. My work bridges clinical care, education, and research so families can feel informed, supported, and confident through every feeding stage.

Lactology takes a science-led, evidence-based approach to breastfeeding support. Rather than offering generic advice, every consultation is grounded in current lactation research and translated into practical, actionable guidance tailored to you and your baby. Care evolves as the evidence does — and so does Lactology's practice.

Breastfeeding advice online can be noisy, contradictory, and anxiety-inducing. The best approach is to seek support from a qualified lactation consultant who filters the research and translates it into clear, calm, personalised guidance — without the guilt or conflicting opinions. That's exactly what a Lactology consultation is designed to do.
-
An antenatal lactation consultation can help you understand what normal early feeding looks like, how to establish and protect your milk supply, and what support to have in place before birth. Being informed before your baby arrives makes a significant difference to early breastfeeding confidence and success.
-
The most common early breastfeeding challenges include latch difficulties, nipple pain, concerns about milk supply, slow infant weight gain, engorgement, and blocked ducts or mastitis. Most of these are highly manageable with the right support — early intervention from a lactation consultant often prevents small issues becoming significant ones.
